CUTE Scrapbook Layout 1

IMG_1931

Yes, this is a Paige Evans scraplift. I’ve had this idea ever since I saw the inspiring layout, to do a similar one for my cat scrapbooks. Of course I wanted to put my own spin on it by using different colors, a different font, and a different 4 letter word.

This was so much fun to put together. I started with white cardstock that I covered in gesso. This might have been a mistake as it caused a lot of warp. I’ve never tried it before on this white cardstock that I got from AC, so I didn’t know it would warp like that. Next I used Studio to write out CUTE in Ariel Black, and cut that from copy paper, then traced the letters in pencil. I used watercolors to color the letters, then loaded up my brush with each color to splatter. Next I pulled all the matching color embellishments from my stash… I used dollar store stickers, buttons, sequins and gems. Enamel dots and other stickers are from my lovely aunt who reads my blog and sent me a pack of various embellies from Russia. They are Mr. Painter brand. I also used up a bunch of my home made pony bead enamel dots. The little camera is from Pink Paislee’s Atlas, and the silver stars are Then & Now by MME. Oh, and the adorable purple cat paperclip (and washi tape) are from Staples. Ok, enough brand (or lack there-of) talk, here are the close ups:

I gotta reiterate how fun this was, and how it’s a great way to use up things in your stash. There were stickers in there that I’ve had for years! I did two of this, read part 2 here!

xoxo
